Standing in the club listening to the DJ spin tracks and I notice myself doing the "John Wall" dance. Besides being a dance trend,John Wall,PG for Kentucky, is no doubt hands down going top in this years draft. Though Kentucky fell short this year in the NCAA tournament, no one can deny the ability this young man has. Wall who was voted #1 (rivals.com) as a 5th year senior in 2009 and was going to be a 2009 draft pick, is NBA ready. He manages to strive and only get better on pick and roll but there are some areas that he can improve(as with any player). Though I wish John Wall would have stayed in school only because Kentucky was at its best and if everyone would have stayed then Kentucky would have swiped the NCAA tournament next year,2011.
When you think of Demarcus Cousins, you think John Wall and when you think John Wall, you think Demarcus Cousins. 6'11 and towering over most college freshman his age, and a McDonald's All-American is leaving Kentucky behind to embark on an NBA journey with fellow teammate John Wall. Cousins, power fwd/center for Kentucky, is also expected to go first round. I agree with his decision to leave Kentucky though as I wished for Wall,I wished they would have both stayed to bring Kentucky that NCAA title in 2011. Cousins will have to get use to not always relying on his talent and having Wall, but his body is (def) NBA ready. Cousins, who seems to be a natural at scoring will bring a lot to the team he goes to. Though he is still young(19 or 20), he can run the floor.

Georgetown's Best East Rookie of the Year(freshman year), Greg Monroe, will also go First Round in this year 2010 NBA draft. Greg is projected to go to Detriot Pistons where he will get to play along side fellow Hoya, Dajuan Summers. Greg, who spent two years at Georgetown as a power forward, got pushed around a little in the post because he doesn't have the muscle power, which hopefully during NBA training camp he will gain. This season, I didn't catch as many Georgetown games as I should have but when I did, you cant seem to take your eyes off Monroe who knew his position and knew how to play the floor to his advantage.
Damion James, who I must say has definitely grown since freshman Kevin Durant dominated the floor for Texas Longhorns. James,SF for Longhorns, needs to improve on his ball handling skills, but none the less is a great player. When Texas had: Kevin Durant,DJ Augustin, AJ Abrams and Damion, I thought they were unstoppable. Media only discussed Kevin Durant, then he left, then DJ Augustin, AJ Abrams, now Damion. I feel that with Damion, its not that he was ever a bad player but he was overshadowed by the media light being placed on other players. Same thing with Sherron Collins, always a good player but he stood in the shadow of Mario Chalmers,it wasn't until Chalmers left that Collins became the go-to person for the Jayhawks.
I,of course cant cover everybody, but these four, are what I am watching the NBA draft for this year.
