Its About Time

Growing up in Georgia, the #1 thing we looked forward to was watching the Falcon and Mike Vick destroy any competitor. Even if they lost, all you would head was "but did you see Vick".It seems like Vick was unstoppable...until the world famous Dog Scandal rocked everybody socks. Mike had a long road ahead of him, lost of endorsements, being cut from the Falcons, and jail time. It seems that at time Vick couldn't breathe, PETA was breathing down his neck, ESPN was attacking him, and the rest of the media had a field day. I'm not saying DOG fighting isn't bad, but when I use to visit Baltimore in the summers growing up, I use to see them all the time and I not once remember anybody being arrested. When Vick was released from prison, he went on a "damage control" tour, got PETA back on his side, got signed to the Philadelphia Eagles, and did countless hours of community service. Things for Vick did not come easy, he had to work extra harder to prove that he deserves to be on that field. Fans in Philly were on the fence about having Vick on their home team because of the negativity surrounding his arrest and what that would mean for the city. All that changed, well, majority, of people feelings changed when week after week, Mike Vick, delivered on that field and proved why NO ONE should count him out. Its about time, people started recognizing him. Congrats on WINNING Sportsman of the Year...ON HIS BIRTHDAY! Happy Buuurrrrday Vick!!!
