The Greatest???
O M G, every time NBA season come around, all I hear is Kobe,Lebron,Melo. Now I know other names circulate but that's all i hear people discussing. I never hear people say "Lakers", it's always "Kobe Bryant and the Lakers", everytime I hear that it reminds me of Beyonce AND Destiny's Child. Unlink Beyonce, Kobe can't embark on a solo journey and succeed. There are sooo many Kobe "riders", and I am in no way trying to take away from his greatness...but he is not the greatest Laker of all time. He may be the greatest Laker -right now- but definitely not of all time. If Kobe walked away from the Lakers, the percentile of fans they have would drastically decrease from 100% to maybe 50-60%. With that being said, a lot of yellow and purple fans are NOT fans of the Lakers, but of Kobe Bryant. Nobody can deny that when Kobe plays, it seems as easy as riding a bike. He always toss up double digits and amounts for usually 50% or more of the final score from the Lakers. But lets take a trip down memory lane.......
There was this tall brown skin, attractive man who had a 100 point game, something Bryant has never accomplished. Kobe did come extremely close in that 2006 game, where he scored 81 points against the Raptors..but almost doesn't count. Wilt Chamberlain on the other hand, who happen to break, not 1,not 2 but 5 NBA records(4 which still stand) would far more be considered "The Greatest" before Laker's shooting guard, Kobe Bryant. Now, I obviously wasn't around to see Chamberlain play before his retirement-i think in 72-, but being into sports and not knowing him is like being a singer and not knowing how to sing. Plus, back then, even with his 100 point game, Chamberlain didn't get that much front page press as Kobe does. Well, I mean he did...when he slept with..... an (x) amount of woman, which probably contributed to his demise...which was documented as a "heart failure"..*side.eye****
I would be typing lies if I sat here and named all (if more than one) records Kobe has broken.. I know of that one with the 12-3pointers he shot in one game...Any more??.....It can be 100 more...but do I think he is the greatest?....NOT...a damn good player, and a good looking man..Great he is, but he is still young and has a lot more to prove before I decide to call him the Greatest.
