No Names Needed

So, I was invited to these semi-pro games by a homeboy of mines(Keahrie) at the Melo center in Baltimore,MD on yesterday (Monday July 19,20100). I dragged a friend of mines, Kenya with me. When we arrived to the Melo center around 5:30pm, we had 30mins to watch a couple of players shoot around, and before we knew it the gym filled up with more males than I could have imagined. Me and Kenya looked around pondering why we were the only 2 of the 5 girls in the building but that soon pass as the game buzzer went off. I noticed that these two teams were known as GUEST and HOME, Purple vs. Green. Pardon me because they did not have names on their jerseys so as I blog about this game, I will be identifying them by their jersey numbers.

One thing I noticed was that the Green team played the SAME players damn near the whole game, talk about a team effort. There was this caucasian player (#41) who played I think maybe twice in the game, everytime i blinked my eyes he was IN, then OUT. The Pruple team was very aggressive, especially when it came to setting up a screen.

Green wins the jumpball, dunk, missed AND1 and #3(Green;Marcus) is up for the rebound. Marcus has to be about maybe 6'2 (thats an assumption estimation) so rebounding should have came easy to him. It wasnt until #13(Purple) got in the game that I seen a fair match up (height wise, because #13P had more body to him than the slim built #3G). Early on in the game you can see Green team feeling a little pressure, so they began double teaming #3(Purple). #21(Green) shoots the 3 and as the ball comes back down the court #4(Purple) goes for the shot only for it to be blocked (with power, may I add) by #12(Green). It was soon after #3 (Purple) begins yelling at the ref over a call and as the next play is set #5(Green) blocks another Purple shot, with power). The clock is winding down, its now 1:28 left on the clock and Purple team is down by two, 18-16 while they only have one foul, the Green team has two.

No need for a play by play but going into the 2nd quarter, Purple team is up 21-19. #4 on the Purple team, I noticed was very street with his skills. Potential to be greater than what he is, definately. I cant remember exactly how many turnovers Purple had but it seemed like everytime I looked up,they were having another. I might be over-exaggerating but ............(end of thought). 5:32 left in the 2nd quarter #10(Green) shoots a 3pt, returns to shoot another 3pt, as #3(Purple) tries to save the ball, its a fail, and Green ends up shooting AGAIN! Going into 2nd 1/2 Green has 40 Purple has 38.

30seconds into the 2nd 1/2 Purple has fouled and #10 Green took a No Look pass...too bad he didnt LOOK first because it was NO GOOD! 4mins in Green has 3 fouls and Purple is down one 43-44. 1:22 left, Green 54,4fouls and Purple 50,2 fouls. #13P misses dunk in the 3rd quarter..like really, Im just saying, its three shots you should NEVER miss when playing basketball. #1 DUNK #2 LAY-UP #3 Free-Throw (no paticular order but remember these are my opnions). Anyways, #13(Purple) shoots to #31(Purple)and DUNKS! With 1:50 left Purple is Up 70 to Green 61...and in the blink of an eye....the game is over.....
